Question: Entering your course
Answer:
There are 5 main areas on the Welcome page:
- Tools
- My Announcements
- My Calendar
- My Tasks
- My Courses
Look to the My Courses area of the Welcome page (on the upper right side) and click on a course name to enter your course. The course will begin on the Announcements Page. Use the buttons on the left side to maneuver through the course. They are listed as Announcements, Syllabus, Staff Information, Course Material, Communication, Discussion Board, Websites, and Tools. Most of your time will be spent in the Course Materials and Communication areas. It is very important to read the Syllabus section to be informed of your instructors guidelines for the course.
When you enter your course for the first time, please complete the following:
- Click on the "Tools" button to enter the area for updating your personal information and changing your password. Both of these actions can be accomplished by clicking the Personal Information link shown. (It is very important to edit your personal information to include your current email address). You will not receive any emails through Blackboard until you do this.
- It is also equally important to change your password, from the default user first name, to a personalized password.)
