A SMART cart consists of video, audio, and
computer equipment connected together and placed on a
portable cart. A SMART cart can be used almost anywhere on
campus to present information by way of movies, computer images,
and sound. You can reserve a SMART cart ahead of time by
contacting Mary Kay Pfeiffer (498-5489,
mpfeiffer@nwtc.edu ).

To set up a SMART cart, simply follow these
instructions. Click on an underlined word to view a close

Projecting computer screens |
|
|
|
|
|
Turn on
projector by pressing the
POWER button. The
power button will turn green. |
|
|
|
|
|
Projector
will project "blue" image on wall screen. |
|
|
|
|
|
Push the
INPUT button on the projector several times until the blue image
shows the words "RGB 1" in the upper right hand corner of blue
image. |
|
|
|
|
|
TURN ON the laptop. |
|
|
|
|
|
After 10
seconds, the projector should show the laptop output on wall
screen. |
|
|
|
|
|
FOCUS
image by rotating lens clock-wise or counter clock-wise by hand. |
|
|
|
|
|
Make
image bigger or smaller ( depending on model) by moving zoom lever up or down,
or by rotating the
ZOOM RING located next to
the lens. |
|
|
|
|

|

Perform
all the steps above. |
|
|
|
|
|
On the
laptop,
hold down the "Fn" key.
Press the F4 key several times until "blue" image is projected on both the laptop
and thru the projector to the wall screen. Release the "Fn" key. |

Raise / Lower Projector

Front
adjustable legs can be moved in and out freely by
pulling up and
releasing adjuster levers on the front sides of the
projector. |

|
Projecting a videotape |
|
|
|
|
|
Turn on
projector by pressing the power button. |
|
|
|
|
|
Projector
will project "blue" image on wall screen. |
|
|
|
|
|
Push the
INPUT button on the projector several times until the blue image
shows the words "VIDEO" in the upper right hand corner of blue
image. |

|
|
|
|
Focus
image by rotating lens clock-wise or counter clock-wise by hand. |
|
|
|
|
|
Make
image bigger or smaller by moving zoom lever up or down. |
|
|
|
|
|
Load tape
in VCR mounted on this cart and press "PLAY". (Adjust the volume
of the tape with volume knob located on the front of the white
speaker. |

|
|

|
Turn Off Projector |
|
|
|
|
|
Turn off
projector when not in use by pressing and HOLDING IN power
button until projector lamp turns off. RELEASE button when
projector lamp turns off. Projector fan will continue to run for
2-3 minutes and then automatically shut off. |
